WELCOME

Your lactation journey and the way you feed your family is my passion. Hitch or glitch? Needing direction? Let's work together.

I'm glad you are here! I'm Meaghan, Registered Dietitian (RDN) and Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC). Let me tell you a small tidbit about myself. I received my Master's Degree in Human Nutrition from Winthrop University in Rock Hill, SC. I grew up in Charlotte, NC, but left to trot around the globe, previously working in Argentina in lactation consulting. I moved back to Charlotte three years ago and since, I have been working as a Clinical Dietitian with Atrium Health where I provide care for obstetrics/gynecology (OB/GYN) and cardiovascular patient populations. I currently reside in South Charlotte with my daughter and miniature schnauzer. I speak Spanish too! Hablo español también!

01

How do I contact you?

Via email is preferred. You can write me at dewdroplactation@gmail.com. But, I can take your call when I am not at the hospital and can text back the same day.

02

How do I make an appointment with you?

Via telephone with me. If it is a virtual appointment over GoogleMeet/ GoogleSuite, I can send you a meeting planner if you provide me with your email address. Stay tuned for online appointment-making options.

03

How do I cancel my appointment?

Please text me as soon as possible. I certainly do understand that sometimes life is unpredictable. If you cancel your appointment under the 24 hour mark, you will be charged the session amount. If you reschedule within seven (7) days, there is no fee.

04

Do you accept insurance?

For lactation, I do not. I can provide you with a Superbill, so you can submit this to your insurance company for reimbursement. I cannot guarantee that your insurance company will reimburse you. For nutrition, you reside in the state of NC or TX where I am licensed, I can accept some insurances!

05

Will you touch me or my baby?

No, I will not. My approach to breastfeeding/ infant contact is very hands off. I would like for you to do it yourself. I have heard many stories from you all about being invaded in this way.

06

Are you a mom and did you breastfeed?

Yes, I am a mom and I did breastfeed. But that doesn’t make me intangible or better. Just a fact of life.

07

Are you an IBCLC? What training do you have?

No, I am not an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant. I am training to become an IBCLC through Pathway 1! In 2018 I became a Certified Lactation Counselor, through the Academy of Lactation Policy and Practice. For this certification I traveled to Jacksonville, FL and completed a 45-hour training and passed a two-part, written and oral exam. I am also a Registered Dietitian and work in high-risk OB/GYN. If you are a CLC, and need guidance, please contact me! For more on a CLC’s role: https://centerforbreastfeeding.org/lactation-counselor-training-course/clc-certification/
